When we use Huawei NE series routers, we sometimes encounter problems. How can these problems be solved? We provide the Troubleshooting Guide to help you.
If you encounter the Clock Source with the Highest SSM Level Cannot Be Selected as the System Clock Source, perform the following steps:
1. Do as follows based on the clock source selection mode:
a. If enabling SSM control is required, run the display clock config command to view the SSM control status.
o If SSM control is in the off state, run the clock ssm-contro lon command in the system view to enable SSM control.
o If SSM control is in the on state, but the problem persists, go to Step b.
b. Run the display clock config command on the Ethernet interface to view the priority value in the Pri(sys/2m-1/2m-2) field.
The smaller the priority value, the higher the priority.
o If the priority clock source is low, choose the following configuration based on the type of clock source:
· For line clock source, run the clock [ 2msync-1 | 2msync-2 ] priority priority-value command in the interface view to raise the priority.
· For BITS or PTP clock source, run the clock source bits priority or clock source ptp priority command in the system view to raise the priority.
o If the interface clock source has a proper priority, but the problem persists, go to Step 2.
o If the threshold of the SSM quality level of the clock source has been configured using the clock input-threshold command, run the display this command in the system view to check the comparison between the input SSM quality level and the SSM quality level of the interface clock source.
· If the input SSM quality level of the clock source is higher, run the clock input-threshold command to lower the threshold of the input SSM quality level of the clock source.
· If the threshold of the input SSM quality level of the clock source is appropriate but the problem persists, go to Step 3.
2. Check that no clock source is forcibly selected as the system clock source.
Run the display clock config command to check whether clock force is displayed in the sys pll field of switch config.
§ If clock force is displayed, run the clock clear command in the system view.
§ If no forcible clock source selection is enabled, but the problem persists, go to Step 3.
3. Contact Huawei and provide the following information:
§ Results of this troubleshooting procedure
§ Configuration, log, and alarm files
