Today, I'd like to share with you a case about the failure to create the NE because the RADIUS function is opened on the OptiX OSN 1500.
Failure phenomenon
The customer needs to migrate the SDH NE from the old U2000 to the new U2000. The method is to manually create one by one on the U2000. During the creation process, it was found that almost all NE work is progressing smoothly, but during upload one of the OSN1500 node to U2000 always report error code: no response/server busy error code: 268435457, the customer wants to know what the reason is and provide a solution.
Handling Process
1. Collect product information.
NMS version: U2000 V2R16C60CP2013.
OptiX OSN 1500 V100R006C00
2. Check whether the link connection is normal.
From Linux server telnet nod IP with port 1400 is OK
It is continuous ping not found packets drop.
login node with Navigator read opp log found NMS reach and successful login node.
3. Check if the security settings are normal
Check that the connection mode of the network element is Common, and it will not affect communication.
When checking the RADIUS function of the network element through the Navigator, we found that this node radius authentication is enabled, this is why the NMS side rejected the communication request. After “Close” RADIUS authentication. The NE is successfully created on U2000.
Root Cause
The RADIUS function is enabled for the NE. As a result, the NE cannot be created.
Solution
Close the RADIUS function. If you do not have the Navigator tool, you can use WebLCT operation at the equipment site. Log in to the NE first, and then proceed as follows:
1. In the NE Explorer, select the NE and then choose Security > NE Radius Function Configuration from the Function Tree.
2. In the right pane, click Query.
3. Select Close from the RADIUS Client drop-down list to enable the RADIUS client function on the NE.

4. Click Apply.
