Hello everyone!
Today, I’d like to share a case.
Problem Description
1. The IP addresses of the U2000 server, client, and MSTP on the live network are in the same network segment and are interconnected through switches.
2. The IP address of the NCE southbound interface is in another network segment, and the NCE southbound interface communicates with the U2000 server through the IPBB.
3. The U2000 client can ping the MSTP, U2000 server, and NCE, and the NCE can ping the U2000 server and client, but cannot ping the MSTP.
Problem Analysis
1. Check the switch configuration: All ports on the switch are configured with the same VLAN ID.
2. Check the router configuration. The IP address of the U2000 and NCE NMS is XXX.XXX.X.1, which is correct.
3. Check the configurations of the U2000 client and server. The configurations are correct. GWIP XXX.XXX.X.1 has been configured.
4. Check the MSTP configuration. It is found that the gateway IP address XXX.XXX.X.1 is not configured.
Root Cause
The gateway IP address XXX.XXX.X.1 is not configured for MSTP. As a result, NCE cannot communicate with MSTP.
Solution Description
configure the gateway IP address of MSTP on the U2000.
