NCE-Smart Home | Optimization and Speed Test
Today I will demonstrate some more of the features of NCE-Smart Home (Smart Wi-Fi). It is mainly used for home network O&M management to provide carriers with solutions to improve network maintenance efficiency and increase revenue. NCE collects and analyzes home Wi-Fi big data to visualize and manage home Wi-Fi networks, helps carriers improve Wi-Fi user experience, and reduce unnecessary home visits, user complaint rates, and churn rates.
Configuration and Optimization
1. Wi-Fi Optimization Policy
The NCE allows the creation of optimization policies to remotely solve problems related to Wi-Fi. This policy can be created to run for a certain date, time, and we can also specify which equipment should go through this optimization.
2. Type of optimizations
WMM Auto Enabled
Wi-Fi WMM is enabled automatically, reducing the video forwarding delay.
Channel Selection mode Changed from Fixed to Auto
The Wi-Fi channel selection mode is changed from fixed to automatic. The gateway automatically selects the optimal channel after the channel selection mode is changed to the automatic channel.
Gateway Wi-Fi tx Power Set to 100%
The Tx power of the gateway is automatically set to 100% to improve the energy radiation capability of the gateway and enhance the signal quality of the home network.
2.4G/5G No Roaming
When the plug-in identifies that the gateway meets the conditions for enabling 2.4G/5G roaming, 2.4G/5G roaming is automatically enabled.
5G Wi-Fi Supported But not Enabled
Synchronize the configuration of the 2.4 GHz band to the 5 GHz band and enable 2.4G/5G roaming.
AP Issue (Poor 5G Signal of AP; Use 2.4G)
APs have poor 5G signals in the uplink. The Wi-Fi is adjusted to the 2.4G band according to the Wi-Fi issue resolution and optimization issue policy.
3. Segment-based Speed Test
Another function of NCE-Smart Home is the possibility to perform speed tests remotely. With this tool we can do tests by segment, for example:
ONT for the internet.
From AP WA8021V5 to ONT.
From an STA to the AP, to the gateway, and the Internet.
