The Most Valued Engineers: you see them almost every day on our community: sharing valuable technical knowledge, lending a hand to the other users' technical queries, always being eager to help the community in any form.

Here, on the Huawei Enterprise Community, we value passion and excellence in all forms Because of this reason, we've decided to interview our MVE members in order to get to know them better and find out what drives them the most in life.

This week we'll get to know more about Yogendra Jain, also known as @yogijain in the Huawei Enterprise Community. He's a result-oriented professional with nearly over 13 years of experience in the Telecom Domain, but also in Project Management, Service Delivery and Operations&Client Relationship Management. He's been personally working on Huawei product lines for more than 4 years. Yogendra is currently working with Brightstar Telecommunication India Ltd., which is a top-ranking 5-star CSP/ASP partner of Huawei in his country

Q1. How would you describe yourself in only three words?

Although its first question and little tricky to answer, still, as far as I know about myself, I am

Creative, Loyal, Visionary

Q2. Choices define us. Why did you choose a technical path?

Being a brighter track record in Technical Subjects During my Schooling, my wish came true when my parents, colleagues encouraged me to choose the Engineering Stream, at my age Electronics and Telecommunication were on peak. I've been enjoying my Career since the completion of my Education.

Q3. What do you enjoy the most about your field?
I’m a very curious person and I like to understand how things work or how come things are the way they are. I have the same mindset when I’m assigned an issue. All the possibilities need to be considered. Working with people who are as curious as I am, and that are more skilled, makes my work the best learning environment there is. Every day I learn something new on the job

Q4. What do you enjoy the least about your field?

In the Networking Domain, especially in Technical Support, issues may arise at any odd time, so sometimes I need to cancel my planned activities, it’s like work-life balance got messed, I am still learning time management skills. In rest, I am all OK with my current field.

Q5. What was the most challenging part about a project you were working on, in the past?

I have worked on many important projects throughout my career. What’s crucial for me when starting one is to get very clear on the goals right at the start and then create a plan with milestones. I also like dealing with the most difficult parts of the projects early on—that way in case there are any significant issues, I’ll still have a nice amount of time to complete before the deadline. I also typically break down large tasks into smaller chunks, so that it is easier to know where to start. Detailed planning is very important to ensure an important project goes smoothly.

Q6. What about your favorite part?

IP is my favorite one, I am learning new things on daily basis, these days I am practicing / learning the concepts in IT fields :Storage, Cloud Computing...although it's a tough challenge for me to start from zero, but I have accepted this challenges and I enjoying learning.

Q7. What professional certification are your most proud of and why?

I have earned more than 10 Career Certifications, but Huawei HCIE R&S is one of the most prestigious, I worked very hard (almost 4 months ) to achieve the same, after earning it my confidence got uplifted ..I learned a lot of about technologies, presentation skills, strategy skills.

Yogendra Jain

Q8. What was your motivation to pass this certification?

As per rich experienced shared by earlier batch ( Already passed Resource), colleagues as well saw the glamour & advantages of HCIE over Huawei websites, I had shown my interest to go through this certification , seeing my past records ..I got nominated for this exam and I put my best effort to pass the same ss soon as possible … I was among the top 10 Indians who passed this certification.

Q9. How did you prepare for the exams?

If I talk specifically about HCIE , there are 3 modules: Written, Lab exam and interview, post completing the 5 days live training...I read the best of documents, joined the Huawei community , discussed the facts and methodology with experts, gone through number learning videos. I passed the Written exam with prestigious marks and proceeded for the next steps which were the LAB...I've gone through the LAB exam, but I could not pass at the first attempt…little disappointed but again put my best efforts with better practice and passed the Lab and Interview…this is the achievement that will memorable for me.

Q10. Do you feel like this certification has helped you encounter better career opportunities? If yes, how?

Definitely...I have no doubt in this ...it provides the edge in skills set, other benefits are appreciation for the field, deeper understanding, staying current, intrinsic value in professional & personal life, knowledge always pays a key role. As I mentioned earlier in my comments, that I have completed more than 10 certifications, out of them 7 are from Huawei (includes Career + Specialist certification: HCIE,HCIA,HCS,HCPA, Cyber security and I'm still working for IT certifications .

Q11.  What about your work? Tell us about a moment when you achieved something great!

Being a  Manager in the Delivery team, I have to face a lot of field challenges, overcome from all these project-related challenges and work with deliverying the assignment as per customer expectation with meeting timeline, it's great for me...not very specific moment but may times I received appreciation mails / excellent feedback from end customer, as well from inhouse team. Boosted up my passion towards more successful delivery.

Q12. Do you have any advice for those who are initiates in the technical domain?

I would like to suggest for beginner, whatever you chose in technical, you need to be passionate to learn a lot, as technologies are changing very rapidly and we need to pace up accordingly to be updated.

Q13.  Where do you see yourself five years from now?

During my internship years, it was quite difficult for me to foresee what was coming. I had set up simple goals which I know I could achieve. In the upcoming five years, I want to test myself. I have set up targets which could bring out the best of me. These objectives dealt with making decisions that were tough, but fruitful. In my initial years, I tried to play it safe, which most people do. The five years I see ahead of me are full of responsibilities which need better decisiveness. I am sure the years will be mutually progressive for me and the organization.

Q14. What do you like the most about being a member of the MVE team?

Really lucky that I am a member of this Fabulous group. great minds from different countries...different languages but all think alike towards learning, sharing, motivating. Keep it up, friends.
