This week we'll get to know more about Umar Farooq Shafiq, also known as @umar210260 in the English Huawei Enterprise Community. Umar has experience working as an instructor and he has HCIA (Security, R&S) and HCIP (R&S) certifications
Q1. How would you describe yourself in only three words?
Motivated / Visionary / Confident
Q2. Choices define us. Why did you choose a technical path?
Because I am always fascinated by technology and I like learning about latest advancement related to network security.
Q3. What do you enjoy the most about your field?
Deployment and Troubleshooting are the best things in my field.
Q4. What do you enjoy the least about your field?
End user support where user doesn’t know about your field and tries to be over smart.
Q5. What was the most challenging part about a project you were working on, in the past?
Recently , I deployed Wireless Network (WLC and Light weight AP) and worked on Endpoint security. During this deployment I faced a lot of problems, but this project is full of challenges and I leaned a lot from this deployment.

Q6. What about your favorite part?
Well , Deployment and facing challenges are the favorite part of my life. Although it’s not an easy but I learned and enjoyed a lot from it.
Q7. What professional certification are your most proud of and why?
I’m proud to have HCIP (R&S) certification. Because this certification boosts my technical learning understanding. Now I’m looking for my HCIE exam because I want to be rock in networks field.
Q8. What was your motivation to pass this certification?
I’m always fond of learning new and latest things about my field and very passionate about it. So, this thing helps me a lot to pass my certifications.
Q9. How did you prepare for the exams?
I really want to appreciate the efforts of Huawei’s E-Learning platform because I learned a lot from Huawei E-Learning platform and passed my exam.
Q10. Do you feel like this certification has helped you encounter better career opportunities? If yes, how?
Yes , I agreed certification has a lot of worth in profile. If you are passionate about IT and turn your passion into profession, then certification is the most important thing in your field.
“In practical life and in job market certification worth a lot. I repeat certification worth a lot. Your Experience does matter but certification has a lot of weightage in your career profile”
Q11. What about your work? Tell us about a moment when you achieved something great!
I cannot express my feelings here by text. But I’m really proud of myself and motivated for next coming challenges.

Q12. Do you have any advice for those who are initiates in the technical domain?
a. Be Motivated
b. Never Give Up
c. Be punctual in your field
d. Don’t be limited about specific thing/technology.
Q13. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Well , not sure about it.
But over the next five year I want to explore and develop skills in Networks/Network Security. I will be looking for opportunities to expand my responsibilities within this role to work towards my goal.
Q14. What do you like the most about being a member of the MVE team?
There are a lots of things I liked but the opportunity to exchange information and knowledge with other members and help the community in solving problems.
