With the trend of increased heterogeneity in terms of KPIs among different services sharing the same infrastructure, 5G networks must be designed embracing this from the very beginning.
Nowadays,very different applications share the same communication infrastructure, but communication networks were not designed for this purpose as the primary one.
Moreover, the final goal of 5G is not only to support heterogeneous services, but also reduce the costs, i.e. operational expenditures (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
