Hi,

I'm implementing an L2TP VPN for my customer. Due to the unstable network connection, whatever the wire links or the electrical characteristics, we want to change the MTU on the LSNS to have a test.

I tried on the device but failed.

Do you have any suggestions for that scenario?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
By default (without “mandatory-lcp” command configured on LNS, click https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100168796&id=EN-US_CLIREF_0000001140125945&lang=en
for the explanation of this command), the MTU/MRU is negotiated during the LCP phase, only between LAC and PPP user. After the LCP negotiation between LAC and PPP users is done, the LAC will send the LCP negotiation results (including the MTU negotiated) to the LNS.
For example, if the topology is:
PPP user(Physical port) --- (Physical port) LAC(Physical port) --- (Physical port) Intermediate Device(Physical port) --- (Physical port) LNS.
You have to configure the MTU/MRU value on LAC for L2TP LCP and have to configure the MTU values of the Physical ports along the path from PPP user to LNS.
