MSTP: Multi-Service Transmission Platform
A platform based on the SDH platform, capable of accessing, processing and transmitting TDM services, ATM services, and Ethernet services, packet service, and providing unified management of these services.

It is a type of network. The equipment that supports the transmission of multiple types of services is the MSTP transmission equipment. If multiple MSTP transmission equipment form a transport network, the type of the transport network is MSTP.

It was created to meet the needs of different customers for business types.

2. In the datacom (routing and switching) field

MSTP: Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol

A protocol that can be used in a loop network. Using an algorithm, the MSTP blocks redundant paths so that the loop network can be trimmed as a tree network. In this case, the proliferation and endless cycling of packets is avoided in the loop network. The protocol that introduces the mapping between VLANs and multiple spanning trees. This solves the problem that data cannot be normally forwarded in a VLAN because in STP/RSTP, only one spanning tree corresponds to all the VLANs.
