Can someone infograhically or diagramatically show how a tunnel between two PE's looks like ? And how small tunnels are created inside this big tunnel for different services ?

Dear friend!

PW

AC: attachment circuit

CE: customer edge

PE: provider edge

PW: pseudo wire

The type and number of PWs on a tunnel are not limited. The maximum number of PWs can be created on the same tunnel. Services of different types can also be created on the same tunnel.

Thanks!

The diagram shows the PW is bigger than a tunnel. Aren't PW's INSIDE a tunnel ?

As shown in the figure, the PW path is established between the tributary boards (users connect to customer equipment) at two sites, and the tunnel path is established between the line boards (used to connect optical fibers) at two sites. In a site, the PW path between the line board and the tributary board does not need to be encapsulated in a tunnel.
What are line and tributary boards ? Where are they present and what do they do ?

The line board is the board that communicates with the peer site. The optical fiber or cable connected to its port is from the peer site.
A tributary board is a board that provides channel ports with the local client equipment. The optical fiber or cable connected to the port is from the local customer equipment.

You can view a picture of the link below: https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/how-to-test-the-availability-of-e1-services/thread/639063-875
The SL16 is a line board, and the PQ1 is a tributary board.
