MPLS L2VC doesn‘t work over a TE tunnel

Hi everyone,

This post refers to the issue that MPLS L2VC doesn‘t work over a TE tunnel.

I used the topology below to test TE:


So Client 23 and Client 25 are in the same subnet and the need to ping each other.

Created two tunnels on R13 and R14 destined to each other and then created a tunnel policy.

Please check the attached config files.

So I can only ping from one Client PC to another Client PC on layer 2. If i additionally deploy mpls ldp, I change to Eth 0/0/0 of R13 and GE0/0/0 of R14 to L2 assign the IP and create routes using the tunnel as next.

Hope it works without ldp.

The question is why do I need the LDP to flow traffic on L2 over the tunnels
