This post was last edited by zamakli at 2018-08-11 04:58. Hi, need to know the vid and pid of your modem. From my knowledge there are existing two ways to switch the modem. One is usb_modswitch and the other is with custom kernel where need to be modified the drivers/usb/storage/initializers.c. Then if you want to use it in hilink mode, need to know which device is created. Depending on kernel it is created another ethx device or an usbnetx device. I used on my C1 since years hilink modem with usbnet0 device, but for newer Android versions >=6 the ethernet service in the Android is looking only for ethx devices and uses only the first one. So if your modem creates a eth device and you can disable the onboard eth device it should go. If your modem creates an usbnet device, need to recompile the Android source to make it work. On the other hand, it seems more complicated to make it run in CDC mode, because don't know if there is a librefernce-ril.so on the XU4 that work with your modem.
