Hi there, Community friends! This time, I will share with you about the method used to add 1+1 linear MSP for ASON services. As an example of NE let's take an OSN 9500. Hope you
like it!
On a network where diamond and silver ASON services are provisioned on the OSN 9500, how do I add 1+1 linear multiplex section protection (MSP)?
1. For traditional services on OSN equipment, you can directly add 1+1 linear MSP. After ASON services are provisioned on the equipment, you need to downgrade the services to static services and then add 1+1 linear MSP.
2. If you downgrade a diamond service to an SNCP service, add 1+1 linear MSP on the access side, and then search for SDH trails, the obtained trails are incomplete and you cannot directly upgrade the service to an ASON service. When this occurs, you need to supplement the service on the NMS. The NMS automatically supplements service cross-connections. In this example, the NMS needs to supplement the cross-connections from line protection timeslots to tributary protection timeslots.
To add 1+1 linear MSP for a silver service, perform the following operations:
1. Downgrade the silver service to a static service.
2. Add 1+1 linear MSP.
3. Search for SDH trails and upgrade the service to a silver service.
To add 1+1 linear MSP for a diamond service, perform the following operations:
1. Downgrade the diamond service to a static service.
2. Add 1+1 linear MSP.
3. Supplement the service.
4. Search for SDH trails and upgrade the service to a diamond service.
In addition, you can optimize the diamond service to a silver service, and then perform the operations described above for a silver service. However, there are many steps.
Suggestion and conclusion:
During the operations, ensure that the SDH trail view is correct. Therefore, you are advised to search for new trails after services are optimized, downgraded, or supplemented, ensuring synchronization between the NMS and NEs.
That's all, I welcome everyone to leave a message and exchange in the comment area!
