Hi, everyone.

The following information is often displayed in the router specification list:

Maximum upstream flow queue: 256 K; maximum downstream flow queue: 2 x 256 K.

What is the meaning of this specification? How to understand?

Hi, Qazik.
This is a QoS-related parameter. It indicates that 256,000 FQs are supported in the upstream direction and 2 x 256,000 FQs (512,000 FQs) are supported in the downstream direction. HQoS uses flow-queue, which is the specification of flow-queue. If only a small number of sub-interfaces are created and HQoS is applied to the sub-interfaces, you do not need to check the performance of HQoS. If a large number of sub-interfaces are created and HQoS is applied to the sub-interfaces, you need to check whether the number of sub-interfaces exceeds the specifications. The number of supported flow queues varies according to hardware.
