Hi @helpmeplz!

The match-network parameter specifies the matching network address. The match-network parameter can be configured only when ipv4-address is 0.0.0.0. The match-network parameter is used to match the route of the specified network address. For example, run theip ip-prefix prefix1 permit 0.0.0.0 8 command to match all routes with the mask length of 8. ip ip-prefix prefix1 permit 0.0.0.0 8 match-network can match all routes in the range from 0.0.0.1 to 0.255.255.255.255.

In addition, the IP prefix list uses the default deny rule. Therefore, after one or more entries in deny mode are created, you need to create a permit 0.0.0.0 0 less-equal 32 entry to allow all other IPv4 routes to pass through.

Hope this helps!

It didn't make me understand. It is just retyped what I already read. May be one specified instance of using it somewhere will give more comprehension.

Such as:
For ip ip-prefix prefix1 permit 0.0.0.0 8, both IP addresses 1.1.1.1/8 and 0.0.0.100/8 will be matched.
But ip ip-prefix prefix1 permit 0.0.0.0 8 match-network, the IP address 1.1.1.1/8 will not be matched and 0.0.0.100/8 will be matched.

I can say how it looks like for me: When we type all zeros in the network part, this is interpreted as any networks with the given mask, but when we use the match-option, the network part is interpreted as is: Networks beginning with zero bits specified by wildcard, Is it?
