In my previous post, I briefly explained about the Massive MIMO. In this post, I will highlight some key benefits of Massive MIMO.
Massive MIMO, as a core component of 5G NR, offers a number of advantages to both network operators and end-users. The technology enhances spectral efficiency, allowing operators to have more network capacity for the same amount of spectrum, allowing them to get the most out of their pricey resource.
In order to deliver the requisite data speeds and handle the enormous number of connections, 5G networks will rely heavily on network densification as they expand out, especially in urban areas. Massive MIMO, along with beam-forming technology, allows for highly targeted use of spectrum, eliminating present performance bottlenecks, allowing a larger number of users in the cell, and improving the end-user experience in densely populated locations.

Due to the growing number of signal routes, there is more chance of interference and purposeful jamming. Massive MIMO networks will also respond more quickly to devices transmitting at higher frequencies, improving coverage, especially indoors.
SUMMARY OF KEY BENEFITS:
§ The Massive MIMO offers the following key benefits:
§ Spectral efficiency that is higher
§ It has the capacity to accommodate a large number of users per 5G cell tower or antenna array in a sequential manner.
§ Increases average sector throughput by a factor of six.
§ Increases cell edge throughput by around thrice.
§ Increases peak sector throughput by about eightfold
§ Improved coverage.
§ Uses beam-forming to focus on a specific user of interest, reducing interference with other users. Overall performance improves as a result of this.
§ Due to the concentration of radiated energy on mobile phone users, or UEs, improved energy efficiency is achieved.
