Hi community!
Here’s a case that management modules of controller A and controller B become faulty at the same time.
Symptoms
Management modules of controller A and controller B become faulty at the same time.
The status indicators of both controllers turn red.
Alarm Information
The storage system reports an error about a fault on the management module.
Possible Causes
Hardware of the two management modules is faulty.
After hot swapping of the management modules, synchronization fails
(for example, the hot swapping is performed when the peer management module is absent).
Identification Method
Check whether the status indicators of the management modules of controller A and controller B are red.
Troubleshooting Procedure
On OceanStor 18000V100R001C99,
when the status indicators of both management modules are red,
do not restore the storage system by performing hot swapping of the management modules.
Recover the system according to the following procedure:
Remove the faulty management modules.
Prepare a burned spare management module A with the bay_config.ini file,
and insert the module into controller A(the indicator is red at this time).
Restart controller A.
Controller A is powered on normally and the management module indicator turns red.
Insert the other spare management module B into controller B.
The indicator on management module B first blinks and then becomes steady green,
which indicates that the synchronization is successful.
Check After Recovery
The indicators on both controller A and controller B are steady green, indicating that both controllers are normal.
