To maintain the equipment on-site, I use:
A laptop with a COM port.
Cables for connecting the laptop to the equipment: twisted pair cable and console cable. They should be long enough.
Screwdrivers.
Nippers.
Pliers.
Tools for installing and removing nuts from telecommunication cabinets.
A set of couplers.
Duster.
Smartphone or tablet with HiKnow.
If there is a need to work with checking or replacing cables or sockets, then there is a set in which the laptop with its cables is replaced by:
Cable tester.
A tool for plugging wires into a socket.
"Crimp" for the RJ-45.
Cable stripper.
Laptop preparation
I use the Windows operating system to facilitate access to the corporate network. Therefore, I will give the composition of the software for Windows.
The laptop can be used to connect via a network interface, or serial. In the first case, you may need:
FTP client (Filezilla).
Web browser (Chrome).
FTP or TFTP server (TFTPD32).
SSH client (PuTTY).
In the second case, a client will be needed to access the command line on the serial port. I am using PuTTY.
Sometimes the equipment is located in an inconvenient place, and it will not work with a laptop next to it. In this case, long cables are very useful. Also pay attention to the serial port connection parameters. Network equipment and storage parameters may vary.
In working with Huawei equipment, the HiKnow program can greatly help. With its help, you can quickly access the documentation:
If you can scan the equipment barcode, then click the scan button (top).
If you have already added this equipment to your profile (or similar equipment), select it from the list of your devices in the middle of the page. To go to the documentation - click on the top of the Homepage.
Or enter the product section at the bottom.

HiKnow allows you to not only access the documentation, but also check the warranty period of the equipment and create a service request (and track it in the future).
