I want to know how does U2000 to distinguish whether the board is the main control board or clock board? Is the port an electrical or optical?

Thank you!

Dear friends!

On some devices, the clock board and the control board are displayed separately (STG, SCC), such as 6800 and 8800.

8800

However, on some devices, the control and clock functions are on the same board, such as OSN1500, OSN2500, the  STG are not displayed.

1500

For the second question.

You can distinguish between optical and electrical ports based on the shape of the ports on the board

Hello,

For the NEs managed on the U2000, the NE panel is displayed. You can see the board name from the panel diagram, which can be separated according to the board name and device knowledge.

Like OSN 8800 devices, STG is the clock board and SCC is the main control board

Query the properties of the board on the NMS, and you can see whether the board is an optical port or an electrical port from the logical port properties.

In addition, the easiest way to judge is to see if there is an option to switch the laser. One is the optical port, and the other is the electrical port.

Thanks
