MA5633 - The input signal of the 1588 external clock source is lost.

457 0 1 0 1

When the input signal of the external 1588 clock source is lost, the system generates this alarm: 0x2d31a005 ( Major)

Impact on the System

If the input signal of the external 1588 clock source is lost, the quality of the communication between the ONU and its downstream devices may deteriorate or may be interrupted, and the 0x2d30a007 The 1588 clock source switches to a new 1588 source event may also be generated. If the external 1588 clock source functions as the system clock source, the system clock source switches to another clock source, and the 0x2d31a001 The input signal of the one external clock source is lost alarm is generated.

Possible Causes

  • The connection from the port to the external 1588 clock source is faulty.
  • The port to which the signal of the external 1588 clock source is input is faulty.
  • The board to which the signal of the external 1588 clock source is input is faulty.
  • The board to which the signal of the external 1588 clock source is input is reset.
  • The upper-layer device is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check the optical fiber.

    • If the optical fiber is loose or disconnected, reconnect the optical fiber to ensure that the optical fiber is connected properly. Then, go to 4.
    • If the optical fiber is aged, bent, or damaged, replace the optical fiber. Then, go to 4.
    • If the optical fiber connector is contaminated, clean the connector. Then, go to 4.
    • none of the preceding situations exist, go to 2.

  2. Check the status of the RUN ALM LED on the board according to the frame ID in the alarm parameters.

    • If the RUN ALM LED is on for 0.25s and off for 0.25s repeatedly, it indicates that the service board is being loaded. After the service board works in the normal state, this alarm is automatically cleared. Then, go to 4.
    • If the RUN ALM LED is red and is on, it indicates that the service board is faulty. Then, go to 5.
    • If the RUN ALM LED is green and is on for 1s and off for 1s repeatedly, it indicates that the service board works in the normal state. Then, go to 3.

  3. Check the upper-layer device and rule out any problem. Then, go to 4.
  4. Check whether the clear alarm is generated.

    • If the alarm is generated, go to 6.
    • If the alarm is not generated, go to 5.

  5. Contact Huawei for technical support.
  6. End.
