Welcome to you - LTE optimization - Standards for measuring performance in fourth generation LTE networks
Telecommunications companies operating 4G LTE networks use a set of indicators to judge the performance of the network and direct the optimization team to address, improve, and perform the network in the event of deficiencies in the Key Performance Indicators - KPIs.
The performance indicators were divided into five general types, and each type has sub-indicators - and we can find different types that are used in different companies.
The first indicator is Accessibility and it refers to the rates of use of the fourth generation network, for example, if the customer requests a voice call and he did not succeed in making the call, there will be a problem in the accessibility indicator - another example, if there is a WhatsApp message coming to the customer and it did not succeed in reaching the customer, then there is a problem in accessibility indicator.
The second indicator, Retainability, refers to the rates of maintaining the connection with the network, for example, if a voice call was made and while talking, the call was disconnected, so there is a problem with the Retainability indicator - another example, while browsing any website on the mobile and the data session was disconnected, then there is a problem in the Retainability Index.
The third indicator is Mobility, which indicates the success rates of the Handover - for example, while moving from one cell to another while making a call or browsing any site, the call or data session has been cut off, then there is a problem with the Mobility indicator.
The fourth indicator, Integrity, refers to a set of indicators such as the average network delay, data retransmission rate, or signal strength rates compared to SINR noise.
The fifth indicator: Usage or utilization. It refers to a group of sub-indicators such as average throughput, average number of network users, or rates of use of Resource Blocks and others.
A availability indicator may be added, which indicates the percentage of the enb wireless station in the service, or a traffic indicator, which indicates the different data rates in the network.
The various indicators, whether main or sub-indicators, are monitored and continuously improved by the optimization team in different ways such as radio optimization or parameter optimization and others.
