Hi everyone,
What if the LTE interface don't come up after applying APN profile?
The detalied description is having a sim card that should provide public static IP, but by configuring the specific APN to device the interface does not come up and does not obtain an IP address. When no APN is applied then the cellular interface comes up but with an private IP address.
The first thing to do is to start by collecting the logs and diagnostic and check the cellular interface and apn profile configuration especially the following:
-the private network authentication to be open for SIM card
-the apn-name to be correct configured
-the apn-name has username and password
If all the above are correctly configured go further and check the SIM card because the SIM card may be only 3G and the working mode of the interface may not be in WCDMA.
As resolution, change the working mode of the interface to WCDMA/GSM using the following commands:
<Huawei>system-view
[Huawei] interface cellular 0/0/0
[Huawei-Cellular0/0/0] mode wcdma wcdma-only
Hope you won't encounter this issue, but if you do, now you know where to look.
Regards
