Hi, All

When IPC6355 is configured H.265 encoding format, it is unable to play live stream on ONVIF device manager.

Hi, Will!

I've confirmed that when IPC6355 is configured via the H.265 encoding format, it is able to play the live stream on the IVS Client.

This is a compatibility issue.

The ONVIF device manager tool does not support the video live view with the H.265 encoding format.

IPC6355-VRZ supports the live view with the H.265 encoding format, but the ONVIF device manager tool does not support the video live view with the H.265 encoding format.

In addition, pay attention to the following:

Setting ONVIF Parameters

When the ONVIF protocol is used when connecting IPCs to the platform, you need to set the ONVIF parameters.

Prerequisites:

  • The ONVIF protocol supports the MD5 digest authentication. The MD5 algorithm is a weak algorithm and the media stream is not encrypted, which may result in security risks. Use the ONVIF protocol on a trusted network. Otherwise, security risks may exist.

  • If the ONVIF protocol needs to use the H.265 encoding protocol, the ONVIF protocol of the camera and the surveillance platform need to support the H.265 encoding protocol. Huawei cameras require the V200R003C10 or later versions. As for the surveillance platform, contact the platform supplier to obtain the protocol support information. Alternatively, set the encoding protocol (Primary and Secondary) to H.264 and then set the parameters on devices. For detailed operation, please log in to the IPC using a web browser and choose Settings > Video/Audio/Image > Video Parameters, set Coding protocol to H.264.

  • The ONVIF protocol does not support the OPUS audio format. If the OPUS audio format is used, the connection to the platform may fail. You need to use another audio format.

  • If the ONVIF protocol is used when you set connection parameters on the platform; the corresponding port number is 80 or 8080. When connecting the IPCs to the Milestone platform, use port 8080 to prevent connection exceptions.

Hi!

Please check whether the version of the camera is an officially released version. If the version of a camera is not an officially released version, the camera cannot use the connection protocol ONVIF and the encoding protocol H.265 at the same time.

• If the camera uses a non-officially released version, upgrade it to an officially released version.

• If the camera uses an officially released version, contact Huawei's technical support engineers for assistance.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I will test whether other cameras support h.265 on ONVIF device manager.
