1. Configure the Boolean value alarm input function.
a) Open a web browser, type the IP address of the camera in the address box, and press Enter.
b) Enter the user name and password and click Login. The home page of the camera's web client is displayed.
c) Choose Settings > Alarm Configuration > Alarm I/O.
d) Set Boolean value input parameters.

e) Select Device ID for Boolean value alarm input.
f) Select Enable.
g) Set Name, Type, and Alarm check interval.
2. Create a protection zone.

a) Click
. A protection zone record is displayed in the Protection Zone panel on the left.
b) Right-click the record, choose Rename from the shortcut menu, and rename the protection zone.
c) Click Add Device. Select cameras for the protection zone.
d) Click OK. The protection zone is added.
3. Configure a protection zone surveillance deployment plan.
a) On the Workspace tab page, double-click Alarms.

b) Click on the Protection Zone tab page.
c) Right click the new protection zone and choose Plan from the shortcut menu. The tab page for setting protection zone surveillance deployment plans is displayed.

d) Drag the timeline to select a period for executing surveillance deployment.
e) Select Enable plan. Click OK to save the surveillance plan configuration information. The protection zone surveillance plan is successfully configured.
4. Configure the protection zone Boolean value alarm to link with the live video recording.
a) In the Service Operation panel on the left of the Workspace tab page, double-click Alarms.
b) Click the Alarm Linkage tab.

c) Select a protection zone for which you want to set a new alarm linkage policy in the Protection Zone List panel. The page for setting alarm linkage policies is displayed.

d) Select the Boolean value alarm and click Next.
e) Click
and select Live Video.

f) Select the linked camera and the linked user and click Save.

g) Click Save to complete the alarm action configuration.
