Linking protection zone motion detection with alarm bells

This topic describes linking protection zone motion detection with alarm bells.


Operation steps

1. Configure the motion detection function on the camera web page.

    a. Open Internet Explorer, enter the IP address of the camera in the address box, and press Enter.

    b. Enter the user name and password and click Login. The system shows the home page of the IVS C/S client.

    c. Choose Settings > Channel Configuration > Motion Detection Parameters.

        i. To enable motion detection, select Enable.

        ii. Click Add. Use the mouse to adjust the location and size of the motion detection area.

        iii. Set parameters. 

        iv. Click Save.

2. On the camera web page, set the Boolean value output parameters.

    a. On the camera web page, choose Settings > Alarm Configuration > Alarm I/O.

    b. Set the Boolean value output parameters.

Configuring Boolean value alarm output

       i. Select the Device ID for Boolean value alarm output.

       ii. Click Enable.

       iii. Set the Name and Duration for the alarm output device.

3. Create a protection zone.

    a. On the Workspace tab page, double-click Alarms.

    b. Click the Protection Zone tab.

    c. Create a protection zone.

Configuring Boolean value alarm output

       i. Click add. A protection zone record is displayed in the Protection Zone panel on the left.

       ii. Right click the record, choose Rename from the shortcut menu, and name the protection zone.

       iii. Click Add Device.

       iv. Select the cameras for the protection zone.

       v. Click OK.

4. Configure a protection zone surveillance deployment plan.

    a. On the Workspace tab page, double-click Alarms.

    b. Click the Protection Zone tab.

    c. Right-click the new protection zone and choose Plan from the shortcut menu. The tab page for setting protection zone surveillance deployment plans is displayed.

Configuring the observation deployment plan

       i. Drag the timeline to select a period for executing surveillance deployment.

       ii. Select Enable plan. Click OK to save surveillance plan configuration information. The protection zone surveillance plan is successfully configured.

5. Configure protection zone alarm to link with alarm bells. 

    a. In the Service Operation panel on the left of the Workspace tab page, double-click Alarms.

    b. Click the Alarm Linkage tab.

    c. Select a protection zone for which you want to set the alarm linkage action in the Protection Zone panel and click New Alarm Linkage Policy. The New Alarm Linkage Policy window is displayed.

Configuring the observation deployment plan

   d. Select the Motion detected alarm trigger condition and click Next.

   e. Configure the Alarm Linkage action.

   f. On the New Alarm Linkage Policy page, click Coin, and click Boolean Value Output.

   g. Configure the alarm linkage to the Boolean value output.

   h. Click Save to complete the alarm linkage action configuration.
