This post talks about the limitations of the SmartIO modules installation positions on the OceanStor V3 storage system. Please see more details below.
1. In the case of 2 U storage systems (2600 V3, 5300 V3, and 5500 V3):
When the SmartIO modules need to be inserted for IP scale-out, insert them in slots A1 and B1.
2. In the case of 3 U storage systems (5600 V3 and 5800 V3):
Do not insert the SmartIO modules in slots A0 and B0.
When the SmartIO modules need to be inserted for IP scale-out, insert them in slots A3 and B3.
3. In the case of 6 U (6800 V3) storage systems:
Do not insert the SmartIO modules in slots L0IOM0, R0IOM0, L1IOM1, and R1IOM1.
When the SmartIO modules need to be inserted for IP scale-out, insert them in slots L3IOM0, R3IOM0, L3IOM1, and R3IOM1.
