Limitation of PW3 and Tunnels

Hi friends! Is there a limitation of max no of PW3 or tunnels that can be created on a port?

Hello,

Yes the limitation is related of the equipment capability , you can check the capability of the Equipment from HedEX 

search in the ( Feature Description) then in Ethernet Features> MPLS Basics and PWE3 

there you can find the number of available PW and Tunnels in the level of the equipment and board , they dont mention it for port but I think they are the same for the port.


as Example OSN1800

SS-PW:

  • 64 x 1024/NE

  • 64 x 1024/board

MS-PW:

  • 32 x 1024/NE

  • 32 x 1024/board

Maximum number of tunnel

  • 64 x 1024/NE

  • 64 x 1024/board

for other NEs its different

this is for PWE3 Basics and you can go to MPLS Basic  to check Tunnels (the choice before the PWE3 under the Ethernet Feature Based on Packet)
