License activation error

License activation error

Hello,

We have installed 2x CE6820-48S6CQ. We configured them in a stack.Now we try to active the license using this method: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1000150334/b4f566d2/how-do-i-load-a-license-for-a-stack-system

So we have zipped both of the license.dat files which we have received and uploaded it to the master of the stack. After that we get the following error:

<CE-1F-3-3-2>license activelicense.zip

Now activing the license.

MainBoard:

Error:No product feature is present in the license file.

SlaveBoard:

Error:No product feature is present in the license file.


We also tried it with only the .dat file on the Master with the same result.

<CE-1F-3-3-2>license active XXXXXXXXX.dat

Now activing the license.

MainBoard:

Error: No product feature is present in thelicense file.

SlaveBoard:

Error: No product feature is present in thelicense file.

 The current status of the license is:

< CE-1F-3-3-2>dis license state

MainBoard:

Info: No license is activated.

SlaveBoard:

Info: No license is activated.

Can you please suggest for that?

Well, the license requirement for the basic feature will be displayed as "basic feature".
For example, OSPF, will be displayed as "OSPF is a basic feature of the CloudEngine 8800, 7800, 6800, and 5800 series switches and is not under license control." https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100020548&id=EN-US_CONCEPT_0141114778&lang=en

Possible Cause:
Cause 1: The license file is for basic software functions, which contains only basic software quotation items. It has been built in the device and activated before delivery.

Cause 2: The control items that need to be activated in the license file are not supported on the current device.

Procedure:
For cause 1: The license file for basic software functions does not require manual activation.

For cause 2: Apply for a license file that contains the control items in the system. The license file can be activated only if at least one of the control items in the license file is supported by the device.

This error happens usually due to the reasons below:

For example, VxLAN feature, you can view the license requirements at https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100020548&id=EN-US_CONCEPT_0141119035&lang=en
For other features, you can also search in the documentation. Usually, you can find the license requirements at the page named "Licensing Requirements and Limitations for xxx".
