By enabling LCAS,if we add or delete boundpath at port the service will not afftected,my question is how LCAS works. has LCAS reduce the transmitted rate of service or swith the afftected VC4 to protection.?

Hi dear,
Lets suppose that you have 20 vc12 bounded in the vc trunk .
When you make the vc12 cross connection you try make 10vc12 pass in a path and the other 10vc12 to go through an other path for protection purposes .
Now if u dont have LCAS , when any of the 10 vc12 get cut , you will loss the whole traffic and the Ethernet will not be able to re-adjust the link speed and the service will be cut .
But if u have LCAS and u get a fail in 10vc12 so the speed will be re-adjusted and the service will not fail totaly but u will loss 10vc12 of the speed .
Ofcourse the customer will have reduce in the speed but the service will not totally stop and u have chance to change the 10vc12 to an other working path .

dear it's depond on the bandwith in used if full the when you reduce there must have delay, but if there's only used 50%,there' nothing impact for customer

Hello User. I shared with you the documentation about LCAS feature in the following link:

https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1100110471/c9142d0b/introduction

At the end of the introduction part said:

Adopting the LCAS function brings the network with the following benefits:

  • The LCAS dynamically adjusts (adds or deletes) the service bandwidth without affecting the availability of the existing services.

  • When some of the physical channels in a virtual concatenation group fail, with LCAS, the failed channels are shielded and the other physical channels still transport the services normally. This prevents the services from being interrupted when some of the physical channels fail. After the failed physical channels are restored, they can transport services.

Hope this information helps you.

Regards.
