HI,
Usually, before a large-scale network cutover, there are many works should be prepared.
For example, the live network researching to learn the network information. Prepare the programme to specify the every steps for the cutover. Rollback steps and potential risks during the cutover. Network testing after the cutover, and so on.

Thank you @chenhui

I found the following tasks helpful to consider while planning a cutover plan:

1) Document purpose

2) Project background

    l Network status

    l Network topology

    l IP and VLAN information

    l Routing and data direction

    l Device configuration backup

l Device connection and interface description Cutover target

    l Transformed network topology

    l IP and VLAN information

    l routing model

    l Data trend

l Added device model and version information

    l Device management information

4) Implementation process

l Step 1: xxxx; (including the fallback plan)

l Step 2: xxxx; (including the fallback solution)

l Step 3: xxxx; (including the fallback solution)

l Step 4: xxxx; (including the fallback solution)

    l ……

5) Test case

6) Cutover progress and responsibilities of all parties

7) Test environment and script

8) Other deliverables

Hi Herediano,

Follows my explanation, and I hope this helps you!!!

To a large network cutover, it is necessary divided into multiple small cutovers. In this case, a general cutover scheme and many specific cutover schemes are required to describe the whole process.
Generally, perform the following steps to write a large-scale network cutover solution:

1. Describe the project background

2. Formulate the overall cutover scheme and plan.
Many network cutover solutions cannot be completed in one step. Generally, they are divided into multiple small cutover schemes. In this case, a general cutover scheme and many specific cutover schemes are required to describe the whole process.
The cutover solution not only describes the tasks that need to be performed during the cutover but also contains the schedule of each task. Therefore, the related contents need to be discussed and approved by the cooperation departments and units.

3. Prepare specific cutover implementation tasks.

Preparations Before the cutover
Migration networking diagram
Scope and Risks of cutover and go-live
Organization and Personnel Arrangement
Formal cutover Procedure and Process
Rollback Procedure

4. After the cutover is complete, observe the on-duty observation after the cutover.
On-site on-duty: After all the cutover steps and test steps are complete, enter the observation period. Generally, if the cutover is normal within 24 hours, the cutover is successful

The migration may also fail. In this case, an emergency solution or rollback solution is required.

Good Luck!!!
