Large ping delay sometimes

Hello, I got a USG firewall, and there is something strange that I cannot understand, I’m not sure if there are physical errors with this device.

When I ping the firewall I found the delay is not stable, sometimes it’s low(1ms), but sometimes it could reach 50ms for a while. This is abnormal obviously.

Could you guys help me?

You are kindly advised to check the configuration, if the ICMP fast-reply is enabled. If not, it’s recommended to configure icmp echo-reply fast enable to enable fast ICMP reply function on the firewall. After the fast ICMP reply function is enabled, the device rapidly replies to the ICMP Echo Request packets destined for the device itself through the data plane.

the priority of ping packets on the management plane is low. So it may cause the ping delay increased when other tasks are working.
You can try disable the ICMP fast reply and observe the ping result, if it increases when other tasks occupy the most resource of firewall.
