Huawei B525s-23a



My B525s-23a, on software version would not connect to my VPN account. When the box is ticked to connect, the response is Success, but the status remains Disconnected

What is it with this L2TP problem on B525s-23a?

Huawei support is rubbish.

It seems that they have produced different versions of firmwares, some with/without featires such as bridge-mode and there is no one single path of upgrade. It may even be the case that there are different motherboards and some firmwares may not be compatible amongst different models of B525 with different motherboards - i dont know, i'm just guessing.

There are B525 firmwares available here: but I have NOT tried any of them and if you do so, then its *entirely* at your own risk. The firmwares have nothing to do with me - i simply found them by Googling. However, if you do try them and it resolves your problem, then do please post back here so that other people can know what does/doesn't work. And it would be useful if you could say what your firmware WAS and what it is after installing any of those firmware versions.

And it seems a major oversight that there appears to be no way to back-up current firmware before 'upgrading' - so if it goes wrong and those firmwares dont work, then you will have an expensive plastic brick.
