Any new node added to a cluster is automatically allocated to a Disk Pool without any additional configurations and inherit configuration properties of the Disk Pool in the SmartPools. This means that Disk Pool data protection properties and other settings need to be configured when a Disk Poll is initially created. Automatic allocation specifies that newly added node that share properties must meet the node type requirements of a Disk Pool. For example, if an S node with a 600 GB SAS drive only joins a Disk Pool of S Series nodes. If the node does not meet the node type requirement of the Disk Pool, the new node remains un-provisioned until a required type of node is added (three nodes of same storage and memory configurations).

Thanks.
