Some cameras of the same device can adjust data for 90 days, but some can not.

There are 3 VCN platforms, and the camera rate is 2048Kbps.
Each VCN platform adds different numbers of cameras. The difference is quite uneven.
Three VCN have the same problem.

Hey there!

The following factors determine how many days a video can be stored on the VCN platform:

1. Hard disk space;

2. Set the camera bit rate.

The method for calculating the camera storage space is as follows:

  • If the bit rate of a camera is 1024Kbps, the space required for storing data for one day is about 12GB and that for storing data for 90 days is about 1080GB.

  • Therefore, if the customer does not want to change the bit rate, the standby or backup hard disk must be used to store all recordings and reset the VCN.

  • Otherwise, if the required space is insufficient, the VCN does not have a hard disk. As a result, the video cannot be recorded for 90 days.

According to the actual situation, the formula is as follows:

  • If the bit rate of a camera is 1024Kbps, the space required for storing data for one day is about 12GB and that for storing data for 90 days is about 1080G.

  • The options are as follows:

1. The bit rate is reduced, but the resolution is affected.

2. Balance the cameras added on different VCN platforms.

3. Add sufficient hard disks or storage devices.
