HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hi Guys,
I have the EG8247H5 ONT device which I am trying to configure as a WiFi repeater.
I changed the upstream port from optical to LAN 1 port.

Next I gave the ONT device an IP address which was in the subnet of my main internet router.
I disabled DHCP settings on the ONT device..
Finally I plugged in a LAN cable from my main router in to the LAN 1 port of the ONT device.
Unfortunately these steps did not seem to work.
The ONT device have working internet and none of my devices can connect to it(probably because I disabled DHCP).
I have to reset the ONT device to connect back to it and I have tried multiple things but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone help me out? I do not want to spend extra money for better WiFi coverage.

Hello, friend!

According to the problem description, you are configuring the EG8247HG as a wifi repeater.

The EG8247H5 is an ONT. After confirmation, the EG8247H5 cannot be configured as a Wi-Fi relay. If you need a Wi-Fi relay, you can select a home router or an AP.

Thanks!

Hi friend,

You need to login to your device with fully privilege user, such as admin or super Admin,

Now you need to make all LAN ports configurable as shown:

LAN

Now change the upstream to LAN1:

lan1

then, it will ask for reboot, after restart, You should disable DHCP,  and connect your uplink cable to LAN1.

Hope it helps.
