【Issue Description】
A conference is convened on the SMC2.0. In the conference, a ViewPoint 8000 series MCU functions as the active MCU. The conference contains participants using TE Desktop or TE Mobile. A participant using TE Desktop or TE Mobile fails to join the conference. When you view the details of the participant, an error message indicating capability exchange failure is displayed.
【Possible Causes】
ViewPoint 8000 series MCUs do not have universal transcoding capabilities. When scheduling a conference on a ViewPoint 8000 series MCU, the SMC2.0 determines the capabilities of each participant. When trying to join the conference, an endpoint will not negotiate with the MCU again to choose the optimal capabilities to join the conference. The capabilities of TE Desktop&TE Mobile are lower than those of other endpoints. Therefore, TE Desktop&TE Mobile fails to join the conference.
- The maximum capabilities of TE Desktop are as follows:
- Bandwidth: 2 Mbit/s
- Protocol: H.264HP
- Format: 720p
- The maximum capabilities of TE Mobile are as follows:
- Bandwidth: 768 kbit/s (The default bandwidth is 512 kbit/s.)
- Protocol: H.264
- Format: VGA
- TE Desktop&TE Mobile supports the audio protocols G.711a/u, G.722 (64k), G.729A, and iLBC, but not AAC-LD.
【Procedure】
- Ensure that the capabilities defined for TE Desktop&TE Mobile sites on the SMC2.0 do not exceed the maximum capabilities of TE Desktop&TE Mobile.
- Ensure that capabilities (bandwidth, video protocol, video format, and audio protocol) for TE Desktop&TE Mobile have been defined on the conference template. If they are not defined, manually adjust the capabilities of a TE Desktop&TE Mobile site so that the capabilities do not exceed the maximum capabilities of TE Desktop&TE Mobile.
