Metro800 is an old WDM equipment, current mainstream WDM equipment is OSN serial equipment. OSN serial WDM equipment has OSN1800/OSN6800/OSN8800/OSN9800/OSN9600. if you want to replace the old WDM equipment, you can contact huawei local office and they will provide recommendation according to your actual network.

As we know Optix Metro 800 is a compact MSTP that offers up to OC-48 (SONET) on the line side (equivalent to STM16 in SDH), and multi-services tributaries like FE/GE, SONET electricals (STS-1-3C/6C/9C etc) and also SONET opticals (OC-3, OC-12, OC-48).
Since this equipmment has come to EOM in year 2012, the alternative for this equipment which is compact and also offer similar services,SONET, would be OSN 1800.
