Is Migration Mandatory from a Non-SDN-Based Solution to a SDN-Based Solution?

Hello, all!

I have a question about SDN for HCS, is migration mandatory form a non-SDN-based solution to a SDN-based solution? Is there a roadmap?

Migration must be performed. A smooth evolution solution is unavailable, and a roadmap is not provided.
The product line is conducting technical pre-research on the evolution from the non-SDN-based solution to the software SDN-based solution. Incorporation date is to be determined.
Implementation process:

  • VM can be migrated from a non-SDN resource pool to a new software SDN resource pool in the unit of VPC during a live migration (the direct network needs to be reconstructed to a VPC network before migration). Services are interrupted in seconds.

  • During VPC migration, new services cannot be provisioned in a non-SDN resource pool of the VPC.

  • Cold migration is required for VMs across vSwitches or passthrough devices. Services are interrupted in minutes.
