Is a License File Required to Expand a Tape in a VTL

Solution
Products and versions:

VTL3500 V100R002
VTL6000 V100R003C02
VTL6900 V100R005

Virtual tapes that have been created cannot be expanded to the maximum capacity.

When new virtual tapes are created and the Tape Capacity On Demand option of the VTL is enabled, the new virtual tapes can be expanded on demand. The maximum capacity after expansion is the default maximum capacity defined in VTL properties.

Enabling the Tape Capacity On Demand option does not require a license file.
