IPv4 reservation in bas pool by mac (temporary)

Hello people,

I am talking to some ISPs and there is a demand to reserve IPs from the PPPoE Pool in the Net Engine (NE) concentrators.

There is a command to reserve IPv4 (https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100108945&id=EN-US_CLIREF_0172384985&lang=en), however, it only works with IPoE:


<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] ip pool huawei bas local
[*HUAWEI-ip-pool-huawei] reserved ip-address mac


There is the same command to reserve the prefix in IPv6 (https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100108945&id=EN-US_CLIREF_0172385114&lang=en), this command works fine with PPPoE:


<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] ipv6 prefix fix-prefix1 delegation
[*HUAWEI-ipv6-prefix-fix-prefix1] prefix XXXX:XXXX:3000::1/64
[*HUAWEI-ipv6-prefix-fix-prefix1] reserved prefix mac


As there is a lot of use of CGNAT, the functionality of reserving these addresses (IPv4) by mac is interesting, at least for a while, maybe 1 day (example).

Does anyone else have this demand? More specifically on models NE40E-M2K-B and NE8000 M8? If so, please comment so that we can evaluate the possibility of requesting this function.

Even with the comment I tried to use the configuration, thinking it could be an error in the documentation.


I did the procedure, set up the pool, cut over a client, when reconnecting it already goes up with another ip, instantly.

If I set the IPv6 prefix, it reconnects using the same prefix. But we need this in IPv4.
