Iphone can’t push portal page automatically

Issue Description

Customer feedback that portal page can’t push automatically when connect iphone. The IOS version include 10 11.2 and 9. But android is working fine.

First、checking the agile controller configuration found the portal page is http.
Second、checking the AC configuration confirm input “undo portal captive-bypass enable”
Third、debug portal from the ap

Root Cause

Apple devices might not open your internal network’s ‘.local’ domain

Solution

Change the portal page from dns name to ip address.

Change before
http://AgileController.CityUniversity.local:8080/portal

change after
http://ip_address:8080/portal
