Today I will share with you the solution for IPC6525-Z30 Privacy masks appeared and disappeared unexpectedly.
Issue description
The customer stated that the configured privacy masking areas disappear and appear unexpectedly when the dome camera rotates to a certain angle. The customer is using a customer firmware version of IPC V200R003C30SPC001T.
Handling process
We have first checked the release notes for this currently loaded firmware version and what issues are supposed to address since it was custom built in order to address privacy mask issues. After this matter has been confirmed we have requested the following information from the customer:
Detailed description about the video like time, situation and under which parameter the privacy mask is triggered.

After the video has been provided we have analyzed it and found that the reported issue is caused by the camera chip since it can activate 8 masks for cameras. There can only be a maximum of eight quadrilateral (Thirty-two quadrilateral for PTZ camera) privacy mask areas.
Root cause
After the video has been provided we have analyzed it and found that the reported issue is caused by the camera chip since it can activate 8 masks for cameras. There can only be a maximum of eight quadrilateral (Thirty-two quadrilateral for PTZ camera) privacy mask areas. When the camera move there are more than 8 masks in the screen scope. The system will only activate the minimum eight label masks and as such it will cause the original mask to disappear.
Solution
The workaround solution for this issue is setting less or equal privacy masks with wide angle zoom value 1 which will ensure the maximum privacy mask coverage setting
