Hi,

Our APs are configured with static IP addresses. However, we find the APs sometimes get IP from the DHCP server.

For example, the original IPs of 4 APs are set to  .1-.4,  but the IPs automatically change to .251-254.

What could be the cause?

Hello,
Huawei AP has a rollback mechanism to prevent the AP from being unreachable due to incorrect configurations. (For example, the AP cannot reach the AC due to an incorrect IP address by mistake.)

If the AP does not go online within 10 minutes after its restarts, the AP switches to the online mode. That is, the AP attempts to obtain an IP address through DHCP and attempts to go online. If the AP successfully goes online through DHCP, the AP keeps DHCP mode for the next online time too.

To use the static fixed IP address mode, you are advised to binding the IP and MAC address on the DHCP server for these APs too. Or else you have to disable the DHCP server in the network.
