In the case of high concurrency, how to ensure service experience with high latency requirements is one of the biggest challenges of the Wi-Fi network. Today, I'm going to introduce Huawei's leading technology of intelligent application acceleration from 5G.

What is intelligent application acceleration? In short, it can identify key services from the Wi-Fi network, optimize air interface resources, reduce service delay, and improve user experience. Currently, Huawei's intelligent application acceleration function can reduce the service delay to 10ms, leading the industry, this feature ensures high latency for VR/AR/4K conferences and games.

To achieve a low latency of 10ms for key services such as VR/AR/ games, Huawei's intelligent application acceleration has been optimized in the following aspects:

First, we need to accurately identify key applications of enterprises. Huawei has trained a large number of current services, developed a complete signature database, and accurately identified 6000+ types of services, including VR/AR/4K conferences and games. These signature database are still being improved and can be updated online, ensure the accuracy of application identification.

Second, the air interface resource scheduling technology of the 5G implements scheduling of high-priority services, and ensures low delay transmission of 10ms.

For downlink large data volume transmission, Huawei AirEngine intelligent application acceleration schedules reserved hardware and software queues in the AP after identifying key services, and improves the priority of key service transmission, which is equivalent to preserving the "green channel" in the device. For interactive applications, the efficiency of online data affects user experience. Huawei AirEngine optimizes the uplink by optimizing the EDCA parameters between terminals and APs. Generally, when a user is connected to the Wi-Fi network, the terminal, such as a mobile phone or a notebook computer, negotiates a suitable rate with the AP according to the signal strength and interference of the current location of the user. When the user is in the moving state or the surrounding environment changes, the signal quality changes. If the terminal cannot obtain the negotiated rate quickly and accurately, the services such as games and VR with high delay requirements may fluctuate, or even packet loss may occur, affecting user experience. Huawei AirEngine intelligent application acceleration uses the enhanced AMC algorithm to optimize the packet negotiation mechanism between terminals and APs. Based on a large number of historical statistics, the rate can be adjusted without the user's perception to negotiate the optimal rate of the current location and ensure the stability of delay-sensitive services.
