The Intelligent Fiber Management System (Fiber Doctor System), referred to as the FD system, realizes the monitoring and management of the line fiber in the network. Through the accurate detection of the fiber connection status, it helps the maintenance personnel analyze the quality of the fiber interface and the fiber fusion point, and quickly locate the fiber quality problem. 


In the WDM system, fiber problems such as aging, external damage, fiber curling, high-angle bending, and large tensile forces may cause fiber attenuation and high bit error rate, which may affect the normal operation of the network.


FD system-line fiber quality monitoring function introduction: 

The FD system sends probe light through the built-in probe light sending unit of the TN12RAU1 / TN12RAU2 board, and uses the principles of fiber Rayleigh scattering and Fresnel reflection to detect the size and position of fiber loss changes. 


Reporting test data to the NMS can realize and provide the following functions: 

Provide an intuitive graphical instrument interface on the NMS; remotely detect fiber quality in offline and online scenarios; flexibly set different working modes and test parameters, used for fiber quality inspection in different ranges. 


FD system composition: 

A complete FD system requires the hardware and software to cooperate and cooperate with each other. 


The hardware part sends the detection light to detect, get the performance data of the optical fiber, and accept the unified scheduling of the software. 


The software part provides a user-friendly interactive interface and supports the setting of detection modes in different scenarios.


Hardware part The boards TN12RAU1 and TN12RAU2 support the line fiber monitoring function, which is responsible for sending probe light, receiving the test results, and reporting the acquired performance data to the FD. 


Software part The FD system is integrated on the U2000. 


The user sends a detection command through the U2000 operation interface. 


The FD receives the performance data reported by the device and displays the data graphically.
