The metropolitan active-active DR plan allows two sites far from each other to use the HyperMetro feature of the Huawei V3, V5, or Dorado series storage and the high availability (HA) and dynamic resource scheduler (DRS) functions of FusionCompute to implement DR. The two sites (production sites) provide services and serve as DR sites for each other.shows the logical structure of the metropolitan active-active DR plan.
shows the logical structure when one site is deployed. Customers can deploy several sites based on service requirements and connect them together.
shows the logical structure when some services (VM1 to VMx) are deployed at site 1. In actual scenarios, services may need to be deployed at site 2. Then, site 1 is the DR site.
The recovery point objective (RPO) for the metropolitan active-active DR plan is 0, and the recovery time objective (RTO) is at the minute level.
This plan is applicable to the following scenarios:
- The service load must be balanced between different data centers to ensure continuous service provisioning.
- Services must be recovered quickly when a part of or all services (network, storage, and host) of a site is faulty.
- The link between two data centers of a DR system is of high speed and low latency.
