Recently I went to one of the biggest data centers and met with one of the popular switch brands HUAWEI.
so, I had asked him to spend 5 minutes taking a small interview.
Hope you guys will enjoy the Interview with HUAWEI SWITCH.
Here we go:
Question 1: hello sir, before going to start the interview, can you share some of your pictures for my audience?
Switch Reply: Hua ha ha ha ha wei. Why not? Here are some.
Question 2: so how is the life working as Switch?
Switch Reply: it used to be very good earlier. But now a days with a lot of competition and integrating with many features just making me sick and want to stop do the switching and take some rest.
Me: Wow. That must be hard.
Question 3: so, can you tell me something about your past?
Switch reply: I have started my life in 1987 and used to work as telephone switches. Later on, I moved to many other technologies and now I am fully enterprise-grade switch competing with many other brands.
Question 4: Hit me some of your best features, please?!
Switch reply: Well there are many, but let me tell a few which makes me different from other vendors.
First thing is that my Operating system. Unlike other vendors, I am my own OS running which is called VRP (Versatile routing platform). We used our own CLI commands and it is very easy to remember and use.
And I have my own propriety protocols which can be supported with other vendor switching platforms.
Example: LNP, VCMP, MSTP, VBST, LACP, VRRP, and many more.
And no one can beat me at pricing.
And I have very good security features integrated.
And finally, I am available in many models which most of the vendors are limited to few models only.
I can be managed locally or by cloud.
I don’t need many subscription charges yearly as other vendors do.
Question 5: can you name some of your family members.
Switch reply: Yes, why not?
Cloud Engine series 5700, 6700. These guys are really useful when it comes to access the network.
Cloud engine 16800,12800.
Cloud engine 9800,8800.
