Background
To ensure high reliability of data transmission, an application server can establish multiple paths to the storage system. When the primary path is faulty, the failover function of the UltraPath can automatically switch services to a standby path, preventing service interruption caused by SPOF.
Prerequisites
- The multi-path software is available. The multi-path software is in the VP1 and VP2 DVD-ROMs delivered with the disk array.
- VP1 or VP2 where you want to install multi-path software has been disconnected from other devices.
Procedure
On VP1 and VP2, run the multi-path software installation program UltraPath-5.01.074.exe, retain the default settings, and perform operations as prompted until the installation is complete.

- The preceding multi-path software version may be different from the multi-path software version in the DVD-ROM.
- To download the multi-path software of the latest version, visit http://support.huawei.com/enterprise, choose , and download the required software.
Verification
- Log in to VP1 as the administrator.
- Click Start, right-click Computer, and choose Manage from the shortcut
menu.
The Server Manager window is displayed.
- In the navigation tree, choose Diagnostics > Device Manager. If the device
information in the red frames shown in Figure 1 are displayed, the multi-path
