Hello everyone.

Stuck with a problem and cannot find a way to resolve.

Got 2 Huawei rack servers 2288H V5 and a single storage OceanStor 2200V3.

When I try to install FusionSphere (basically host OS and VRM), I get no errors in logs and everything goes good until VRM tries to be created.

It starts, but hangs at 99% in a loop, and cannot complete the installation. Both Simple and Custom installation modes were tried, and Active/Standby or Single-Node modes. Any time it stucks at the same point, showing no errors.

Gateway is reachable. Network config is as simple as it can be - flat /24 subnet.

OS from which I start installation is Windows 7 SP1 x64 Ultimate, Java environment is up-to date.

Please, HELP!

Hello, dear!

Have a nice day!

There are many reasons for this, such as:

  1. Operating system problems

  2. The FusionSphere Installer tool package is not decompressed.

  3. The network is faulty. For example, the VLAN of the OM network segment is not reachable.

You may need to remotely connect to the environment for analysis. You are advised to contact your local TAC for help.

Hello!
Thanks for reply!
1. Host OS was fresh-installed FusionOS 6.5.1
1a. OS on management notebook is quite good, but maybe there are sme recommendations or best practices for it? Version, name,JRE versions, etc?
2. Fully decompressed. But maybe there are some advices to check if everything is in place? Some files?
3. No VLANs used. Network is good enough and is setup correctly.

There are NO error messages.
However, I found this 5-year old post: https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/not-able-to-install-vrm/thread/242351-893
Maybe this is my case, but the same as for author of that post - my write and read policies are default and were not changed.
Moreover, 9-hour-long installation is... at least a bit strange.
