Incompatibilities between iStack and VPLS/MPLS/LDP

Hello everyone,

Currently, CE8860 V200R002C50SPC800 is used to form the iStack.

VXLAN/eBGP/EVPN over OSPF is used to create a distributed VLAN structure. We plan to add another CE8860 that uses VPLS/MPLS/LDP over IS-IS to IStack. Are there known incompatibility issues between iStack and VPLS/MPLS/LDP?

Please help me! Thank you!

Hi WDNJSQ,

There is no incompatibility between iStack and VXLAN/VPLS/MPLS/LDP. However stacked switches are not recommended to use MPLS LDP, as per the documentation link (limitations for MPLS LDP) below, this is because the forwarding resources are limited and may reach the limit easier when in the stack, if the limit is reached traffic may be interrupted.

On a stack the CPU of the Master is used to process protocol packets.
